| Do you own a property within the Christchurch city boundary (excluding Lyttelton and Banks Peninsula) and use an open fire or solid fuel burner as the main form of heating in the main living area? If so, you could be eligible for subsidies or loans on insulation and replacement clean heating. |
Please check through the following criteria to see if your home or rental property qualifies for the Clean Heat Project.
These criteria apply to all Clean Heat Project programmes in Christchurch (Loan, Subsidy, Landlord Subsidy, Full Assistance): |
- The house must be a privately owned residential dwelling located within the Clean Air Zone, where rates are paid to the Christchurch City Council (excluding Lyttelton and Banks Peninsula).

- Homeowners can only participate in one programme per residential dwelling. Once a house has received a Clean Heat Project grant and has been upgraded, no further assistance can be provided for that property.
It is possible for a person who participates in the programme with one house and then moves to another to participate in the Clean Heat Project again. This is subject to them meeting the incentive programme's eligibility criteria.
- Participants do not need to be home occupiers as programmes are also available for landlords.
- Houses that are government-owned, such as by the Housing New Zealand Corporation or the Christchurch City Council, are not eligible for a Clean Heat Project grant.
- Subsidies are not available for homes that are structurally unsound or in a serious state of disrepair.

| If you meet all of these criteria you can register online and a Clean Heat Project representative will contact you. |
