Appliances
Only energy efficiency products and heating appliances that are registered with Environment Canterbury's Clean Heat Project are eligible for programme discounts.
Depending on which Clean Heat Project plan you choose, you may be eligible for the following products:
- Heat Pumps: A selection of heat pumps from Mitsubishi, Toshiba and Fujitsu.
- Gas: All categories of gas heater that are fully enclosed and fixed-flued are approved as meeting the requirements of the Clean Heat Project.
- Nightstore: Registered nightstore heating appliances.
- Pellet Fires: A selection of pellet fires.
- Woodburners: Ultra-low emission woodburners that meet the requirements of the Clean Heat Project.
- Diesel: Registered diesel appliances (only available for the interest free loan and Christchurch homeowner subsidy).
- Registered ceiling insulation: Ceiling insulation with a thermal rating of R2.6 or better.
- Registered underfloor insulation: Underfloor foil insulation with a thermal rating of R1.1 or better.
All insulation used for the Clean Heat Project must meet NZS 4346:2006.

The project does not support fixed electric resistance heaters, portable heaters, portable electric heaters, solid or liquid fuel burners that do not meet the Clean Heat Project particulate emissions criteria and portable gas heaters.
The Clean Heat approved heating appliance option will be provided by the assessor within that category according to the heat load requirement for the living space, and will be installed according to the Clean Heat Project conditions.
All work must be carried out by Clean Heat Project registered installers. |
